Profile
Hello! My name is Sara Lupardus (formerly Busick), and I am a Licensed Master of Social Work. I have been working in the field of mental health for 16 years.
I am passionate about helping others address the things that are holding them back in life. I love to help people understand themselves better, so they can live more authentically in the world. I help people discover their inner strengths, what is holding them back, and how to tap into a happier life.
I am a queer-friendly and gender affirming therapist. I myself identify as bisexual or queer, and use she/her pronouns.
I have experience and enjoy working with people from a variety of backgrounds and situations. I also specialize in helping people address trauma. I have extensive experience in working with people who have complex situations, people who are suicidal, in crisis, experiencing psychosis, or have a serious mental illness. Additionally, I have a strength in working with people of high intelligence. Many times people have a specific problem they are working on, and I can assist with that too!
In addition to the above, I have found a passion for and am uniquely qualified in helping people who find themselves to be neurodivergent. When living and growing with neurodivergent traits, the world and its expectations do not always make sense. Furthermore, things we’ve been taught by society can conflict with the neurodivergent brain. This can leave those of us with neurodivergent traits and diagnoses like Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD feeling confused and alone. I want to help you find strategies to help you live your best life, drop the mask, and use your unique neurodivergent traits to set a framework for long term success and happiness in the way you define it. I specialize in working with later diagnosed adults, as well as diagnosing people who think they may be neurodivergent.
The most important part of any effective therapy is the relationship between client and clinician. I am happy to give a free consultation to answer questions and assess for a good fit. I am trained in EMDR, MIGDAS-2, ADOS-2, SCID, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and many others.
It is only when you accept yourself, that you can begin to increase your joy. Our problems can seem so scary when we feel alone in handling them. I seek to create a space where you can share your thoughts, judgement free, and with a professional with an open mind. Therapy can be hard work, but it’s work worth doing, and I look forward to working with you!
My therapy style tends to be more laid back and easy going, but also direct. I want to challenge you to look at things in ways maybe you have not before, and sometimes that can feel really difficult. I encourage my clients to kick off their shoes, bring comfort/fidget items, or use the many fidgets/blankets/pillows I supply as well. We can only do the really hard work when we feel safe and comfortable!
