Dr. Adrienne Rombough is a co-director of Campbell & Fairweather Psychology Group and specializes in the assessment and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan, with a primary focus on children and youth. She provides comprehensive psycho-diagnostic and psycho-educational assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, and complex neurodevelopmental disorders, while also considering any co-occurring or differential mental health concerns.
Dr. Rombough takes a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach, recognizing the importance of gathering all relevant information before making a diagnosis. She adopts a lifespan perspective, striving to understand a client’s needs within the context of their past experiences, current life circumstances, and future goals. Her aim is to pinpoint the causes of difficulties and make specific recommendations that build upon a client’s strengths. Known for her warm and approachable clinical style, Dr. Rombough goes “above and beyond” to support each client’s growth through her extensive experience and neurodivergence-affirming approach.
Dr. Rombough received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University in 2014, with a focus on developmental psychology. Originally from Nanaimo, she developed an early interest in supporting and learning from individuals with developmental differences. She worked as an autism respite provider and behavioral therapist during her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia. During her graduate studies at SFU, she published and presented extensively on autism and developmental disorders. Her research on social skills in autism was supported by numerous grants and fellowships, including the prestigious Banting & Best Doctoral Fellowship from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR). She was also a research fellow with the Canada-wide Autism Research Training Program Initiative based out of McGill University.
Dr. Rombough completed her clinical residency at the Queen’s University-affiliated Kingston Internship Consortium in Kingston, Ontario, where she received specialized training in the identification and management of neurodevelopmental and acquired brain-based disabilities across the lifespan. Prior to joining Campbell & Fairweather, she worked in private practice in Vancouver and provided psychological services at Sunny Hill Health Centre (a BC Children’s Hospital site), collaborating with the Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions team and the BC Autism Assessment Network team. Dr. Rombough is committed to continuing education and lifelong learning and deeply values the insights she gains from her clients’ lived experiences.
